Magnetic Island which is situated off the coast of Townsville within the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef Marine Park will once again play host to the SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week, in the backyard of this beautiful tropical paradise – a fresh adventure on the Australasian off-shore scene.
The eighth annual SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week will offer first class racing on the crystal blue waters of Cleveland Bay from Thursday 27August to Tuesday 1 September 2015, following on from the Airlie Beach and Hamilton Island Race Weeks and is the finale of the Queensland Season of Sailing.

Winners of the six divisions contesting the ninth annual SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week have been decided today at the completion of a challenging Cleveland Bay triangle course. It was a tough final race where all crew couldn’t have sailed any better. Each division had its top place on the line as there was no drop allowed in the point score. SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week 2015 – penultimate day awaits Tracey Johnstone, Magnetic Island ,
The 60-boat fleet are back on the water this morning for the penultimate day of the SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week. The multihulls and cruising boats are expected to head out on a 14 mile Cleveland Bay triangle course while the combined IRC and PHS divisions will be completing two windward/leeward races.

Peter Sorensen and his The Philosopher’s Club have cause for big celebrations today after winning on both IRC and PHS, Race 3 of the SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week. That win has also moved the Sydney team up to first overall in both divisions, for now. It’s an exceptional achievement for his team. They started today’s race in less than brilliant form.

It's a short race day today with only the PHS and IRC boats heading out on Day 3 of the SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week. The forecast is for a light north-east breeze building to about 10 knots. The combined fleet will sail a 9m course taking them down towards Townsville city, past Picnic Bay and back to the finish off the stunning Magnetic Island.
